Jennifer Dingman founded Persons United Limiting Substandards and Errors in Healthcare (PULSE) in late 1995 in her hometown as a support group for patients and families who experienced healthcare harm.  By 1997, the group had grown substantially, adding patient education and advocacy to it’s work, with independent chapters throughout Colorado and  in several other states.   PULSE was incorporated as a national non profit organization in Colorado in 1997.     Jennifer is also a member of the TMIT Patient Advocate Team, as well as other groups and has been a active force in assisting other advocates in creating life saving changes in healthcare.  Jennifer has counseled many patients and families through the years and uses this knowledge and wisdom to teach providers to better understand the needs and concerns of patients and families.  In her support of others who experienced harm, Jennifer noticed the importance of the patient story as a major change agent in sharing those stories with providers.  She also taught patients and families how to better communicate with providers and navigate our complex system of healthcare delivery.
